Teaching Opportunities

From time to time Halifax Independent School looks for teachers to join its enthusiastic and dedicated teaching staff. With competitive salaries, a generous benefits package, stimulating curricula and small class sizes, the school is a wonderful teaching environment for creative, hard-working individuals. Eligible teachers must have a minimum of a B.Ed (or equivalent) and be eligible to be licensed in the province of Nova Scotia. Teachers in the Pre-primary (Smidgens and Littles) must have a qualification in Early Childhood Education (ECE).

We also offer substitute teaching opportunities for qualified teachers, which occasionally extend into long-term contracts. Potential substitute teachers should submit a resume, and then plan to spend a morning observing in the school and meeting with teachers before having their names added to our substitute list.

Our active after school programme offers part time employment opportunities for people interested in working with children in a recreational setting.
