Math

The primary focus of the Middle School mathematics programme is on student understanding. This is accomplished through an interactive, problem solving approach. Real life situations are used as much as possible and a variety of advanced manipulatives help with the introduction of even the most abstract of concepts. Art based learning opportunities enhance developmentally appropriate extensions of understanding and skills across all seven math strands:

Number sense/number theory
Operations in numeric and algebraic situations
Patterns and relationships
Measurement
Spatial sense - geometry
