Trips

Learning outside the classroom is an important part of Halifax Independent School life. The whole Middle School begins each school year with a 3 day group building trip at Big Cove camp. At the end of each year the students in Olds and up spend three days exploring a region of the Maritimes. In the past, students and parent volunteers have traveled to Cape Breton, the South Shore, Prince Edward Island and the Annapolis Valley.

Every second year the Middle School 2 class will participate in an exchange trip to a francophone area of Canada through the government sponsored SEVEC programme. The first year, they traveled to Quebec city for a week and then hosted students from Ecole Stanislaus here in Halifax.
